Logan's aunt Caralyn posted this song on my facebook profile and I absolutely love it! First time I listened to it, I cried. It's one of those great songs that reminds us of the sacredness of marriage. Becoming one and losing our life for the other, something that never ends. So here we go dancing in the minefields.
Dancing in the Minefields - Andrew Peterson
I was 19 you were 21
the year we got engaged
everyone said we were much too young
but we did it anyway.
We bought the rings for 40 each
at a pawn shop down the road
we said our vows and took the leap
now 15 years ago
And we went dancing in the minefields
we went sailing in the storms
and it was harder than we dreamed
but I believe that's what the promise is for
well ''I Do'' are the two most famous last words
the beginning of the end
but to lose your life for another I've heard
is a good place to begin
Cause the only way to find your life
is to lay your own life down
and I believe it's an easy price
for the life that we have found
and we're dancing in the minefields
we're sailing in the storms
and this is harder than we dreamed
but I believe that's what the promise is for
that's what the promis is for
so when I lose my way
find me
so when I loose love's chains
bind me
at the end of all my faith
to the end of all my days
when I forget my name
remind me
cause we bear the light of the son of man
so there's nothing left to fear
so I'll walk with you in the shadowlands
till the shadows disappear
cause he promised not to leave us
and his promises are true
so in the face of all this chaos
baby I can dance with you
So let's go dancing in the minefields
let's go sailing in the storms
let's go dancing in the minefields
and kicking down the doors
Lets go dancing in the minefields
and sailing in the storms
this is harder than we dreamed
but I believe that's what the promise is for
that's what the promise is for

We're Engaged!!....and I'm finally telling the story!
Yes, the long wait is over! I have been procrastinating. Mainly because my computer has been down and I just bought a new one and just got my monitor and installed photoshop back on my computer yesterday, so I was finally able to convert my photos to post! Phew. All done now!
Anyways, Logan and I are engaged!! He popped the question on December 22, 2010 at around 8:45 ish. I was working until 8 that night and was planning on doing roomie christmas with my roomate! Now maybe before I tell the story, I'll start out with what I was expecting. It's more humorous that way :)
I knew Logan was going to propose sometime either in December or January. We were wanting to get married this summer and I really like the month of June. So he asked me how much time I would need to plan a wedding. I told him around 6 months, so he made his schedule :P Since I knew he was going to propose soon, I was planning on looking as pretty as I could. I was expecting him to maybe take me out for a nice dinner and then ask me afterwards, so I was planning on having some time to get all dolled up. I had sparkly jewelly I was going to wear, I was going to do my makeup, wear my best clothes etc. But he happened to propose to me when I was totally surprised. I was also sick that day, so my nose was red and runny, my hair was a mess and my eyeliner was running. Not to mention my eye was also bloodshot. Needless to say I looked SOOOO good :P Anyways, now that you have the picture of how great I looked, I'll continue.
I come home from work around 8:35 ish and walk in to the apartment with all the lights turned off, except the hall light. All the way from the door to the kitchen were red and white rose petals. I immediately knew what was going on. I walk down the hallway, and on the kitchen table were roses all laid out nice and a vase of roses in the middle. There were a few candles spread out throughout as well, and in between two candles was the ring! I was just shocked! I looked into my living room, and there he was, handsome as ever in his suit. I didn't even really notice the ring at first, so he got up, pointed to the ring, and then got down on one knee and popped the question!! It was so wonderful and exciting, and I just can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him! The official date is June 11, 2011. 5 months away :)

This is what I saw when I walked into the apartment
The beautiful arrangement of roses that my roomate Michelle delighted in helping him with!
The ring in the box!!
The absolutely GORGEOUS bouquet of roses he bought for me! Just one half of it though :)
This is pretty much exactly what my ring looks like. The only difference is on each side of the big diamond, there are seven diamonds instead of 6. Also on the front and back of the big diamond is one small diamond. Absolutely gorgeous! He did a great job!!
*EDIT* I also took a picture of Logan sitting in the chair in his suit, but it was on another camera and the pictures were on my laptop that's in Edmonton. I might add that one in here too, once I get it :) But don't worry. He looked great!
