Neat Idea

I found this guy on Flickr today and thought this was such a neat idea! He started a blog where he posts a picture of a lego guy everyday for one year. Some of these pictures are just hilarious! New Baby!

My cousin and her husband just had their baby today! He is a beautiful baby boy and he weighed in at 7 pounds 15 ounces. His name is Marshall Payton Kennedy! Can't wait to meet the little guy!

2 diplomas in 2 years?

I just enrolled in an online Graphic Design course yesterday afternoon. It's a do it at your own pace kind of course and I have a year to complete it!! I'm hoping to finish it before going back to NAIT in September, but if I have to keep at it for another month, I think I'll be ok. I'm pretty excited about it. So far it seems pretty cool! I think it'll look pretty good on a resume for a twenty year old to have two college diplomas already! Woo hoo! Hopefully I can stick with it and get it done!

My First Fondant Cake!

So I've been wanting to make a cake to practice with fondant icing and I realized that my dad's birthday is on sunday! while I was at work on wednesday I had marlys whip up a cake for me. Then I came home, made my very first batch of marshmellow fondant (which turned out great!) and finished decorating the cake about an hour ago! Here are some pictures...

I have a lot of practicing to do, but I figured it turned out pretty well for never having learned yet! :)

Evan's Song

I always think it's cute when people make up little songs for their kids or nephews/neices. My mom used to sing "Kari Baby" to me (the tune to the song "Sherry Baby") and I wanted to think up a little song for Evan. I sung it to him today and my sister loved it haha. It's to the tune of Ernie's Rubber ducky song from Sesame street.

I finally got a job! I actually start work tomorrow morning at ten. It's at a local print shop so I'll be able to dabble quite a bit in graphic design and printing! I'm pretty excited about the whole idea. Because of this now, I'll be able to take an online graphic design course and finish next year with two diplomas rather than one. This is going to be a busy summer, but I figure if I get it all done this summer, I won't have to worry about doing another year at nait, and then I will be able to just focus on getting a full time job next year in grande prairie. Unfortunately, this means I won't be moving back to Grande Prairie for this summer, but now I'll be able to get all this schooling done and learn a bit about the printing business! This job also can't guarantee me full time hours every week, so I'll just be able to get this program done faster. Awesome! Here comes a long and busy summer!
